It's already been a year!

We were looking back and we noticed that The Hazard Chronicles ought to be renamed to be The Eva Chronicles. That bug has surely taken over our lives and our affection.

This week, Eva had her very first birthday! We bought her a birthday cake, stripped off her shirt, and let her go at it. She had a very happy birthday. Also, thanks to both sets of grandparents for the presents she received in the mail. She got photo books from both families, a push-button pop-up toy from Rachel's parents, and a web-cam from mine (she was not very excited about this last one, but mom and dad sure were!)

She LOVED her cake- and she ate a lot of it. It's okay though, because it was her birthday, right? I love how she is pointing to her belly in the last picture, as if to demonstrate how full she is. By the way, pointing to things is her new favorite activity. There is no end to the number of things that one can point to. Such fun.

This last year has been the best year of my life. I think that Rachel would agree. Eva has certainly added a new, fun dimension to our lives and we often find ourselves wondering what we ever did before she came along. Happy birthday Eva Bug. We love you.

On a different note, Rachel went to the doctor for a check up this week and found out that our twins are doing great! She heard the two distinct heart beats and everything. They have grown a little bit, but as you can see, they still just look like fuzzy blobs. The doctors call them "Baby A" and "Baby B" to keep track of each one's progress. We thought that was boring though, so we have taken to calling them "Noodle" and "Twitch."

  2. Wow, so creative with the naming! We just called Bennett "the baby" or "it" most of the time before he had an actual name...I hope this doesn't have any implications for the type of parent's we will be! Haha! We sure love you guys, and a happy, happy birthday to Eva! :)
