Evelyn is going to be a big sister!
A few weeks ago we found out that we will be adding a new member of the family. On Friday we had an ultrasound to find out an accurate due date.
We found out a lot more than that! It took me a while to process this image too. It looks like we have the joy of adding two more Hazards to our sweet family. That's right. Twins. By the way... I am 6 and a half week pregnant and my twin due date (36 weeks instead of 40) is at the end of August. This is actually a picture of a picture, but you can actualy see little parts of each baby in the sacs. Looking at this ultrasound gives me chills!.
The doctor said in rare cases there was something called 'vanishing twins' where an early ultrasound shows two, then subsequent ultrasounds show only one baby. He said this would be extremely rare in my case because we can already see both babies.
This week has obviously been a good one! We are getting over the 'freaking out inside our heads' phase and we are into the extrememly excited and a little bit daunted phase. We have successfully grown out of our car over this weekend and our house is seeming a little bit cramped (It was so big when we moved in!). Everything will work out perfectly! We are ecstatic and Evelyn would be too if she knew what was going on. ;)
Evelyn is as cute as ever! She is very close to walking and loves to practice. She is inquisitive about everything and as happy as can be. She finally got over her sickies and is back to her normal sweet self.
We are extremely blessed!
I was cooking dinner last night and I heard ridiculous giggling from Evelyn and I had to check it out. This is what I found.
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!! WOW!
ReplyDeleteamazing news- congrats!
Congrats!!! That is super cool.
ReplyDeleteSo I know I should have paid more attention in Biology class, but are these identical or fraturnal twins? (And maybe I should learn to spell "fraturnal" too.) :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Congrats! You'll find that everything will work itself out- this is exciting!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Congratulations guys! I'm so excited for you (not to mention excited for myself and the rest of the family because that makes 3X the cutest babies ever to share and hold)!! That is just so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAAHHH!
ReplyDeleteI seriously just screamed out loud. WOW!
My cousin's wife (cousin-in law, or whatever) had the vanishing twin thing happen. Your dr is probably right, it won't happen if you've already seen the 2 sacs (oh and 2 sacs means non-identical right? I'm not sure actually.) and unless you had some miscarriage-type bleeding of your body sloughing off that baby.
Oh my gosh! This is so great! Be happy, dont get too overwhelmed. You pay tithing and it'll all work out.
Man, I'm so excited for you guys! I have to admit, I think you're lucky...two-for-one sounds kind of nice, just get the pregnancy part out of the way first right?! I hope you're feeling well Rachel, if we can do anything just call!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!!
NO WAY!!! Congrats!! that is soooo exciting, i can't believe it, TWINS! :)
