Next week I'm planning a traditional New-Year post with updates on everyone so be sure not to miss that one. As for today, I'll talk a little about our splendid weekend:
On Saturday, the big activity was to go to the science museum. We liked it so much we decided to get an annual pass for our family. We will definitely be back.
The museum was hosting the Bodies traveling exhibition which you may have heard of. It is an anatomy exhibit with plasticized cadavers. Me, Evelyn, and Addy went to this part of the museum (other kids thought it was too yucky) and loved it. No photos were allowed, but I think that for all of us it was the highlight of the day.
That night, Rachel and I got a sitter for the kids, went out to dinner, and then spent the night on the town. What a party! Spokane hosted their First Night, where there were five major venues with different shows at each. We went to a blues concert, a comedy show, a magic show, and then finished the night up with an awesome bluesy/country band and a lot of dancing. At midnight we went out along the river with everyone else and counted down the new year, followed by lots of fireworks and noise. This is the first time since we've had kids that we've been able to go out for a new-year's celebration and it did not disappoint. It was so much fun!
We've been getting a lot of snow lately. We went sledding on Monday and the kids have been playing in the snow pretty much non-stop for their whole Christmas vacation. We also did tie-dye shirts yesterday (stay tuned), and took the kids to see Trolls in the theater. It was a good weekend.
Well, that's about all for now. Next week I'll have a lot more to say.
Have a good week!
