Last week, Rachel did a big update on the family. You can go look at that if you want.

This week our theme for the winter continued with hide-and-seek for snow. It's not been great. Our local resort finally broke down and bought some snow makers- but even with that, they haven't been able to open the whole mountain yet. And so we loaded up the car and headed north again. Canada.

Panorama resort is one of our favorites. Long runs- great grooming- lots of terrain to explore. It hadn't snowed for a few days so conditions were pretty firm except for on the steepest runs. Those, and the groomers though, were really really good.

Another part of this trip that stands out to me was the early mornings. This is actually finals/midterms for some of our students, and I went with them each morning to Tim Hortons (how very Canadian of us) and got some work and study in before the day started (how very American of us). It was kind of neat in a way- all of us sitting there with laptops and textbooks and coffee and bagels- I don't know what about it made me feel so good, but it was nonetheless very satisfying.

And then we got home and the following week went by in a huge blur. Finals for high-school kids kept the stress level at a noticeable hum. Lots and lots of people at our house on Wednesday (Bunko group), and Saturday (party with friends), and Sunday (football- Go Seahawks!). Study club for me all day Friday and Saturday. Overnight stay in Wallace with Marissa's family and skiing at Silver Mountain the next day. Lots of work-related travel for Rachel and lots of early mornings and home-related work for me. It was one of the busier weeks that we've had, and I'm kind of glad it's over. Things should calm down a little bit now.

Anyway- enjoy the photos and Have a Good Week!

We get a mix of different ski photos this week. Here's Rach and Jack at Panorama.

Marissa and Wesley are going all-in with the skiing thing. They and their kids are all pretty new to it but they got season passes and took some lessons and now our families can go up together and I think that everyone actually really likes it. This will be a common activity for us.

Also, the adults get some quiet time on the gondola since the kids all ride up together in a separate car

One more at Panorama- Rach enjoying the fast conditions
