Camping

Last week we went camping in Pensylvania with our friends, the Homers. The original plan was to go to Slippery Rock and do some kayaking- there is a class III run on the creek there. Unfortunately, the water was way too low for a good run, but we still had fun camping, swimming, and kayaking on the reservoir there. Here are some pictures:

Good Morning!

Here is Rachel's latest baby belly picture. She is already bigger than she ever got with Evelyn, and the babys are only about half of their expected full size. Since we are having twins, that means that she still has a whole baby to fit in there! (Two halfs). She is standing next to the alter of sacrifice that I made on our fire pit. On top is a golf ball.

We had a good time playing at the lake. About half way through our day it started raining, but that didn't stop us from having fun.

Where has the Week Gone?

Where has this week gone? 3-day weekends sure make the time fly. Logan had Pedo duty this week at the clinic and was able to come home early some days. As it turns out, the Pedo clinic is not very busy.

This week was full of fun bike rides. Logan and I rode around our neighborhood and looked at the mansions nearby, and we took a bike ride on a path by Lake Erie. Tonight we are planning a BBQ dinner out by the lake where we make sure we get our fill with a little bit more bike riding.

On Friday night Logan and I had a great date night. We went and tried Dave's Cosmic Subs and had a picnic at the park after a rousing game of tennis. That night, the Tippetts were kind enough to 'babysit' Evelyn (we have a grand new system of using baby monitors after the kids are asleep to sneak out of the house). We take turns 'babysitting' for each other.

The Fourth of July was full of BBQs and good friends. We had a wonderful BBQ brunch at the Homer's house and we had an amazing BBQ dinner/party at the Mirci's. Joe did an exceptional job at the BBQ. He took our personal orders and made mouthwatering burgers from his home made menu. My Aloha Burger was better than what I could get at a restaurant! In between the BBQs Logan, Evelyn and I took a bike ride to help us digest all of the extra calories!

Our babies are growing very well. I am now at the point in a twin pregnancy where you measure 40 weeks pregnant! I can definately feel it. I already feel like I am as big as a house! I wonder how big I can get........ We now officially have a due date for our babies. The big day is set for 09-09-09. I love this date because it coinsides with our anniversary of 05-05-05! I will be 37 weeks by this time and hopefully the babies will hold on until that time (half of all twins are delivered before 37 weeks).

Logan has been working hard to get his motorcycle in tip top condition. It was in great shape when we got it, but there were a few things he fixed up. He woke up early on Friday and took a leisurely 2 hour ride, then on Saturday he polished it up and now it looks better than ever. The two of them are developing quite the close relationship. He loves that bike.

I think this is the only picture we have this week. Evelyn loved this stroller that was at our friend's house. She pushed it all the way up and down the street (with Logan close behind, of course)

Water Play

We have not been very good bloggers recently. Sorry about that. Hopefully we will be better from here on out.

Life has been pretty busy for us here at the Hazard home. Probably the biggest highlight in the last couple of weeks was our trip to Utah for my brother Griffin's wedding. His bride, Ashland, was beautiful and everything went really well. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple and afterwords had a luncheon/reception in a nice building with a pretty creek running by it. The entire Hazard family was there- something that hasn't happened in a long time...And it was definately a "Hazard" wedding. We just happened to have some kayaks on hand and by the end of the luncheon people were running the small rapids in the creek with their suits on and everything- only at a Hazard wedding! I love my family!

Besides that, my biggest activity has been getting used to clinic. I am starting to feel more comfortable with the protocols and especially with my ability to perform good work. There are days when I come home and think to myself- I am so excited to be a dentist! There are probably a lot of you guys out there that don't understand and think this is wierd. I don't blame you- I suppose it is a little wierd- but it's also so cool!

Rachel is doing great with the babies. We had an ultrasound on Saturday and they have finally moved from the painful position they were in before. Hooray! The doctor said things look great and that the pregnancy is coming along nicely.

This week we had some new people move in upstairs from us. They are a nice LDS family with a little boy who is about Evelyn's age. We are excited to have them above us. Also, our friends, the Broadbents, moved accross the street from us. We are excited about that too.

Today we took a Sunday afternoon bike ride to Lake Erie on the path that runs down Martin Luther King drive. Apparantly they built a new water park on MLK (pretty close to Wade Lagoon). We stopped and let Evelyn play for a while and she LOVED it! Here are some pictures:

We will update the video as soon as we have Logan's computer back. We hav a few short clips we want to put together that we took at the park.

26 1/2 weeks with the babies... only about ten weeks to go!

A cute video of Evelyn and her newfound friend at the water park

And here are some pictures from Griffin's Wedding...

BBQ's, Sunday Walks, and a Baby Belly

Logan has been loving his motorcycle. He has been learning about the mechanics and he has been practicing a lot using wider and wider boundaries around our home. He went on his first "long" ride out to the Mayfield chapel. We definately live in a beautiful place!

Our upstairs apartment has recently become available. We found out that a new family was looking for a place to live, and this week Paul flew out and decided to move in upstairs! We are excited to have Paul, Amy and Luke (he is just a month younger than Eva) move in.

Logan is really enjoying clinic. He is feeling more comfortable by the day and he is getting to know a lot of people... and their mouths. :) He is doing a great job!

On Saturday we had a Ward BBQ at the institute building. The weather was beautiful! We even had a pinata for the party. We learned that we don't have very many kids in our ward that are old enough to understand the point. I actually decided that I don't really understand the point. We teach our kids not to hit, then we give them a bat and cheer for them to "hit the bird as hard as you can!" :) I enjoyed watching and Eva got in a few wacks of her own. We also figured out how to maximize our payload when working with a lot of little kids. We made a game out of putting the candy in Logan's hat. By the end, we had four kids picking up candy and putting it into the hat! Most of that ended up on the table for other people to get their share.

24 1/2 weeks pregnant with our baby girl and baby boy! This was taken on our Sunday walk in North Chagrin Reservation. We live in a beautiful place.

A New Chapter In Our Lives

Logan does not need very much in life to be happy. He is one of the most optimistic and genuinely happy person that I know (I am so lucky that he is my husband!). There is one thing that he has been dreaming about for quite some time. He is now the proud new owner of a Suzuki gs550 motorcycle. After his sixteen hour class last week (that he skipped out on church to finish) he now has his motorcycle licence. He is also the proud new owner of a helmet, gloves, a motorcycle jacket, and motorcycle boots (hooray for Craigslist!).

I love you Logan, and I am so happy for you and your new motorcycle!

Sorting Games

Last week I read an article in a baby magazine about sorting games to play with your toddler. One of the games listed was giving the baby a bowl of goldfish mixed with cheerios and helping her sort them into piles.

Today I was feeding Evelyn and she got bored. When I came back she had sorted all of her pieces of bread into the cupholder circle on her tray, and she had all of her ravioli in the other tray compartment! She decided to take matters into her own hands and teach herself that game! Cute, cute, cute.

Summer Time Fun

This summer is going to be fantastic! Evelyn is old enough to really enjoy some of the fun things to do out here in Cleveland. This last week we visited the Children's Museum of Cleveland with some friends. Evelyn loved it! I bought a year pass for our family and all of us went together on Saturday. This week I am planning to buy a summer pool pass for all of us. Cleveland Heights has a fabulous swimming pool and some fun children's wading pools.

On Saturday evening we had a great BBQ picnic with some of our good friends. We had a great time hanging out with the adults and Evelyn loved playing with the kids. What a great day!

Logan has been very busy this week because he added a new 16 hour class to his schedule. I am now the proud wife of a husband with a motorcycle licence! He took an intense weekend class and passed with flying colors! (He actually did better on his driving test than someone else in the class that has been riding a Harley for 40 years). We are now looking for a bike on Craigslist and we have some good prospects.

Have a great week! Go out and play in this beautiful weather.

Here I am at 22 weeks pregnant.
This is a great place about a mile from our house. We took a bike ride to feed the ducks and see the goslings. Sometimes we even see turtles! We live in a great place.
