Eva and her tent

Here's a video of Eva's new toy. Also, there are some shots of her just playing. She sure is a cute (and a bit overbearing) girl!

After all that play, she will sleep very well. For more cute pictures of Evelyn, be sure to check out the next post also.

Obsessive Amounts of Pictures

We posted some pictures that Haley took during Christmas break. Nancy (Logan's mom) also had some professional pictures taken of Evelyn. Here are some of our favorite pictures.

The End!

We're Back

As with all things, the farther behind you are with something the more daunting the task seems... I shall begin at the beginning. No, I shall begin at this week and move backwards.

Yesterday we celebrated Martin Luther King day by visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of the Fame and The Great Lakes Science Center. For those of you not from around here, ALL museums are free in Cleveland on Martin Luther King Day. The Science museum was fascinating and I enjoyed the hands on exhibits. Evelyn got up close and personal with some of them as well. The Hall of Fame was amazing in that there is so much memorabilia in one place. It was cool to ooh and ahh at the fun relics from our favorite rock and roll artists. We saw Elvis Presleys car (Brandon, you will be thrilled to know that it was a souped up Mark IV). A story on the plaque was about Elvis buying thirteen cadillacs on the day before he purchased this car. He bought them for family members and friends and for a lady that just happened to be out shopping for a cadillac that day! What a great story.

On Friday we had our first "date group." Jessica and I decided to set up a date night play group. Every fourth week each couple takes a turn babysitting all four kids, but this means that for the other three weeks you get a fabulous date night! This week Logan and I took our turn babysitting and we are looking forward to our date on Friday.

Logan has been very dedicated to riding his bike to school every day. Yes, these past weeks have been below zero and he hasn't complained once. On a particulary cold day he called and told me he arrived at school with ice formed on his chin! Wow. He has a lot of cold weather gear and we are now investing to add a face mask to his collection.

This Christmas Logan and I made gifts for some of the people in our families. We made purses for all of our sisters and we made matching burp cloths and bibs for Haley (she is expecting her first little boy in April). Logan amazes me more and more everyday. I found out that he has a great talent for sewing (he is better than me!). You are amazing Logan. He also made me my favorite present! He designed and created a jewelery holder that hangs in our closet. I am excited about this because now I actually wear jewelery because I am reminded when I get dressed in the morning. Hooray! Logan also surprised me by making a zip up bag for Evelyn while I was still in Utah. She especially loves all of the bobbles he sewed on the outside.

While we were in Utah we went to see the Body Worlds exhibit with my parents. Wow. I am amazed at how perfectly our bodies run. The most interesting thing I noticed on the skeleton was how long our toe bones are! Our toe bones run back almost the length of our foot. One of the other interesting things I learned about was our lungs. I knew that smoker's lungs could turn dark black (they had an example of a lung that looked charred), but I saw another lung that was white with black speckles kind of like a dalmation puppy. This lung was from someone that lived in a big city. Pollution in a big city can actually show up on your lungs. I had never even thought about that. I would recommend this show to anyone.
This mirror isn't flattering to anyone! This is the 'make everything wider' mirror.

Evelyn loved this! It was a blower fan that suspended a beach ball in mid air.
This is the cute bag Logan made for Evelyn. The zipper even has a large ring handle that is easy to grasp. The whole bag is covered with fun buttons, rings, and googly eyes. You can see that Eva adores it.

This is the jewelery holder that I love! Thank you Kiwi!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year to everybody! This week has certainly had its ups and downs for us. To start out with, I had to fly home on Monday in order to take a test before the semester started. Rachel stayed behind to get a little more vacationing in. I had a fantastic vacation with both of our families and we created many lasting memories.

When I got home I noticed two envelopes waiting for us in the mail- One of them contained my test results for the dental boards, and the other contained Rachel's results from the NAD. I opened both of them over the phone with Rachel and we congratulated each other when we found that we both passed. Ahhhhh. That was a sigh of relief.

Rachel has had a good time in Utah with her family and I am glad that she got to stay behind- even though I have been pretty bored without her. I have gotten a lot done (and I've watched a lot of movies), but it just isn't the same without a Rachel and an Evelyn there. I think we are both ready to be reunited tomorrow when she gets back.

This has been a fantastic week with Rachel’s family. On Wednesday (Christmas Eve) we went up to their uncle Steve’s cabin on Strawberry Reservoir. To get into the cabin we had to take snow machines up the road for about four and a half miles since everything was snowed in. Kelly, Brandon, and I took a load of gear up first, and then we returned for the rest of the people. Rachel and Eva got to ride in on a trailer that we hooked to the back of the machine. At first we were worried that Eva would hate it and scream the whole way, but instead the exact opposite was true; soon after the machine started she fell asleep and slept the whole way in despite the bumpy trail.

Once at the cabin we had a great time! It was so much fun just having everyone together and we played a lot of games, played in the snow, and played on the snow machines. Actually, the word “play” could pretty well sum up this entire week for us. On Christmas morning we all opened presents and watched “The Grinch.” We made Eva a Build-a-Bear with a little personalized message from Mom and Dad that she became instantly attached to. Rubbing her face in its tummy and giggling provides no end to gleeful fun for her!

Basically, we had a fantastic Christmas and it was hard to leave the cabin when the time finally came. We were there until Sunday afternoon and enjoyed every second of it. There really is nothing quite like being with family for the holidays.

Stay tuned...Rachel will post some picture of our cabin stay.

Merry Christmas!

This week was another wonderful week with my family in Rexburg. My dad, Griffin, and I played a lot of racquetball. Unfortunately, I never was able to beat Griffin. There's always next time! And I did beat him in foosball.

On Wednesday morning Haley flew back to Texas to be with Matt. She had been living at home for a semester to finish school and I'm sure she is very happy to finally be reunited with her husband. They are moving into a new house in a couple of months and will have just enough time to get things ready for the baby that is already on the way. We are very excited for them.

Thursday night we had "Christmas" with my family and exchanged presents to each other. We did this early this year since we won't actually be together on Christmas day.

Really, there's not much more to say- we had a fantastic visit and the time went by all too quickly. On Friday afternoon we drove down to Sandy where we will spend the next couple of weeks with Rachel's family. Yesterday we went to Hunter and Anna Sophia's (cousins) Christmas dance recital and were very impressed. Especially with Hunter; He is awesome and knows how to make dance look cool.

Anyway, we don't have many pictures for this week. We do have some great pictures of Evelyn though- given to us as christmas presents. These are the ones that Haley took at the BYU-Idaho photo studio. There are more that we will post at a later date. Merry Christmas!

We have had an awesome week with my family this week. It was the first time in a while that my entire family has been able to get together and it has been so much fun hanging out with everyone. Instead of writing a lot about our activities, I will tell the story in pictures:

My sister Haley graduated with her BS in Communications. We are proud of her and it was neat to be able to go to her commencement ceremony. Her husband, Matt, flew in from Texas to watch her walk across the stage and receive her diploma and it was fun to hang out with him for a couple of days too.

We went to the gingerbread display at the hospital and saw a lot of cool houses.

Evelyn is feeling much better after we got some antibiotics for her. She has had two breakthroughs this week: first of all she finally learned to crawl- second, she learned how to enjoy a bath. Woo Hoo! She has been a very happy baby even though she has SEVEN teeth coming in. Her mouth looks like it is full of blisters. She smiles and laughs through most of it.

Here's an appropriate video for the season :)
